A Dual Enrollment student is a current high school student that is taking college level classes during the time they are enrolled in high school, prior to high school graduation. These classes may be taken at the student’s high school or at a regionally accredited community college or university.

Dual Enrollment Evaluation Process

If you would like a preliminary review of your credits, please complete the and upload all necessary transcripts for an evaluation.

*A transfer student is a student under the age of 25 who has attempted and/or completed at least 12 college level credits following their high school graduation and prior to their enrollment at Rider. This includes coursework that may be currently in progress. Please follow the steps to apply as a transfer student.

FAQs

A Dual Enrollment student is a student that is still enrolled in High School at the time of their application to Rider. Dual Enrollment students should, thus, apply to Rider as first-year students.

If you attempted or completed at least 12 college level credits following your high school graduation, you must apply to Rider as a transfer student.

Yes, Dual Enrollment credits can be applied to transfer. Rider does not have any particular restrictions regarding Dual Enrollment transfer credits, however credits can only be transferred from regionally accredited institutions with a grade of β€œC” or better.

Please note, for a course to transfer and count towards your major at Rider, the class must have an equivalency at Rider. Courses can transfer as major requirements, gen ed core, or free electives. Each program’s number of allowable free electives varies.

A maximum of 60 credits can be transferred from a community college.

If you have taken classes at a NJ Community College, you can use the website   to look up your classes. The Office of Admissions recommends this method if you have taken 5 or fewer Dual Enrollment classes. If you have taken more than 5 Dual Enrollment classes or plan to be completing a full associate’s degree prior to HS graduation, we recommend a full evaluation.
