For Students Attending Â鶹Íø

Undergraduate

If you are a non-matriculated undergraduate student (enrolled in the University but not admitted to a degree program), you should complete the Rider Tuition Remission Grant Request (see below) and return it to Human Resources. As has been our practice, you are exempt from filing the FAFSA or otherwise applying for financial aid. Please remember, however, that the FAFSA covers an entire academic year, and you need to file it if there's a possibility you will want to enroll in a degree program in any term during the upcoming academic year at the undergraduate level.

If you are a matriculated undergraduate student (admitted to the University in a degree program), taking 6 credits or more (per semester), you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA, see below) and the Rider Tuition Remission Grant Request (see below); in order to receive Rider's tuition remission assistance. Please remember, however, that the FAFSA covers an entire year, and you need to file it if there's a possibility you will want to enroll in 6 credits or more in any term during the upcoming academic year at the undergraduate level.

The federal processing center will send you a Student Aid Report after it processes your FAFSA and will provide an electronic version to Rider's Student Financial Services office.

Student Financial Services staff will do a confidential review of the Electronic Institution Student Information Record and determine your eligibility for financial aid. Student Financial Services will provide you with a Financial Aid Award letter describing your financial aid package or informing you that you are not eligible to receive an award.

Any scholarship assistance obtained from State, Federal, or other sources will be credited toward the applicable tuition charges before remission is applied. Rider's remission award will cover the remainder of your tuition charges after subtracting those amounts where applicable.

Graduate

If you are studying at the graduate level, you need to complete the Rider Tuition Remission Grant Request (see below) and return it to Human Resources. You do not need to file the FAFSA, or otherwise apply for financial aid, unless you wish to apply for a Stafford loan.

For Students Attending Other Institutions (Undergraduate only)

You must apply for financial aid at the school you will attend in order to be eligible for Rider tuition remission. Requirements vary widely among schools, but this process usually involves filing the FAFSA. You should check with the college or university to ensure you complete any other application the school requires in order to issue you an award letter. (Some colleges require more than the FAFSA). Please be careful to plan ahead to ensure you can meet any financial aid application deadline, which may be as early as April for the following academic year.

The federal processing center will send you a Student Aid Report after processing your FAFSA, and will provide an electronic version to the college of your choice.

When you have completed all the requirements of the institution's financial aid office, they will review your data and send a Financial Aid Award letter directly to you.

In order for the Rider Human Resources Office to fulfill your remission request, you must submit Rider's Tuition Remission Grant Request form (see below) along with a copy of your college's Financial Aid Award letter and two copies of the semester bill showing the tuition charges.

Any scholarship assistance obtained from State, Federal, or other sources will be credited toward the applicable tuition charges before remission is applied. A check will be issued to the receiving institution for any remaining balance up to the eligible level.

How to File the Rider Tuition Remission Grant Request:

Please fill out the Tuition Remission Grant Request form online at . We no longer have paper request forms. For instructions, please click here.

You may file the . Paper forms are now available only by special request from the federal government (contact Student Financial Services for details).
