When Clinton Asante-Addo ’24 walked onto the field of MetLife Stadium as an intern for the New York Giants, he knew he was stepping into an opportunity that could shape his career.
Clinton was part of the second group of Rider Broncs to intern with the Giants since the school became the football team’s official higher education partner in 2023. That experience helped him land a full-time position as a corporate partnership associate with the New York Mets, a testament to Rider’s commitment to engaged learning.
As a corporate partnerships intern, Clinton played a vital role in supporting the Giants on game days, gaining experience in client relations and marketing strategies and ensuring sponsors receive maximum exposure during games. One of the most valuable aspects of his internship was the networking opportunities it provided.
Clinton's transition from football to baseball has been demanding, given the sport’s 81 home games compared to football’s more limited schedule, but he was eager to take on the challenge.
"I’m still in my learning phase and developing as a young professional," he says. "My focus has been on getting up to speed as quickly as possible and learning as much as I can.”
Throughout his time as an undergrad, Clinton took full advantage of the University’s resources, attending career fairs and networking events and joining Delta Sigma Pi, a co-ed business fraternity that helped him develop professional skills. He also gained valuable experience as a campus tour guide, refining his interpersonal communication skills by engaging with prospective students and their families.
Clinton came to Rider ready to seize opportunities, grow and advance. Doing so required him to step outside his comfort zone — advice he offers to current students in the hope that it pays off the way it has for him. "College can be intimidating at first, but once you push yourself to try new things, everything gets better,” he says. “Even if something isn’t the right fit, there’s always another opportunity waiting."
