�鶹��’s Westminster College of the Arts has something for everyone interested in making the arts a part of their life.  Performances and exhibits will be presented on both of Rider’s campus in Lawrenceville and Princeton – and beyond.  Westminster Conservatory, the community music school, offers music instruction for all ages and stages of ability at five locations and also hosts several community choral and instrumental ensembles.

The 2010-2011 season in Lawrenceville begins with the exhibit “Translating Nature: Recent Works by Joy Kreves” in the �鶹�� Art Gallery Thursday, September 30 through Saturday, October 30.  The artist will present a talk about the exhibit on Thursday, October 7 at 7 p.m.  The exhibit features two and three-dimensional mixed-media work by Kreves.  Some works incorporate her original handwritten poems.

The �鶹�� Chorale’s first performance on Saturday, November 6 at 2 p.m. will showcase the newest music students in the Westminster College of the Arts as of �鶹��’s family weekend.

�鶹��’s theater productions have garnered critical praise for decades, and the 2010-2011 season promises to be an outstanding one.  The season’s first production is a musical - Striking 12, a unique, funny, brilliant and lovable rewired version of Hans Christian Andersen’s Little Match Girl.  Performances will be in the Yvonne Theater November 11 through 20.  The first drama will be The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, which asks the question “Are there some acts so heinous as to never warrant forgiveness?”  Performances will be February 17 through 26.

The Westminster Conservatory Community Orchestra presents its first performance, entitled “Autumnal Strains,” on Sunday, October 10 at 3 p.m. in Richardson Auditorium on the Princeton University campus.   The orchestra is composed of talented amateurs from the area.

In addition to ticketed events, many Westminster College of the Arts performances are open to the public at no charge – including recitals by faculty from both Westminster Choir College and Westminster Conservatory.  Other free events include the Westminster Conservatory at Nassau series, lunchtime performances presented Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton, and the Art Gallery series, presented in the �鶹�� Art Gallery.
